Requirements

Job Summary 

Unarmed Security Guard

GY6 Services LLC is seeking dependable and professional Unarmed Security Guards to support commercial, residential, construction, and event sites throughout Kansas City, Missouri. Unarmed Guards play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment through visibility, observation, access control, and customer service. This position is ideal for individuals who demonstrate strong communication skills, situational awareness, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor premises to prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and safety hazards

• Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols as assigned

• Control access points and verify identification when required

• Observe, document, and report suspicious activity or incidents

• Enforce site policies and post orders in a professional manner

• De-escalate conflicts and assist during emergencies

• Complete detailed daily activity and incident reports

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, employees, and visitors

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Valid government-issued ID

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Prior security experience preferred but not required (training available)

Licensing Requirements

• Kansas City, Missouri Security Guard license or the ability to obtain one prior to assignment

Armed Security Guard

GY6 Services LLC is hiring qualified and disciplined Armed Security Guards to provide high-level security services across Kansas City, Missouri. Armed Guards are responsible for protecting people, property, and assets while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and strict adherence to firearm safety and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible armed presence to deter criminal activity

• Conduct armed patrols of assigned locations

• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents and emergencies

• Enforce laws, site policies, and post orders

• Exercise restraint, judgment, and professionalism at all times

• Safely carry and maintain assigned or personally owned firearm

• Accurately document incidents, observations, and actions taken

• Coordinate with supervisors, clients, and emergency services when necessary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old

• High school diploma or GED required

• Prior armed security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred

• Strong decision-making and conflict-management skills

• Ability to remain calm under pressure

• Reliable transportation

Licensing & Firearms Requirements

• Valid Kansas City, Missouri, Armed Security Guard license

• Current firearm permit and qualification

• Proof of firearms training and certification

• Compliance with all local, state, and federal firearm laws

Physical & Work Requirements (Both Positions)

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs if required

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
